Girls and teenagers who already have existing mental health challenges are at an increased risk of further harm. Statistics show that nearly two out of every three adolescents come across hate-related content on the internet, which can have a significant impact on their well-being. Additionally, cyberbullying is strongly associated with higher rates of depression, particularly among teenage girls and LGBTQ youth, making it a critical concern for their mental health and safety.
Benefits of Social Media on Teen Mental Health
Social media can provide:
